In a recent and surprise development the popular satire show Hasb-e-Haal loses another host after thirteen years. Junaid Saleem reveals about his leave from the show in a vlog on his own YouTube channel hours ago.
It seems Junaid wanted to continue and some of give screen time to his own YouTube channel, dubbed Insaaf Digital along side his presence on the Dynya TV’s show Hasb-e-Haal. However, he wasn’t allowed to do so by the management of the TV channel. Upon choosing an option from the two, he chose his own newly started digital platform (with mere 15k+ subscribers at the time of writing) over a TV show which is one of the most popular shows in the country.
In a vlog, Junaid Saleem revealed that he wanted to be direct with people with his own views that he was not able to do on a TV show. He said, the Dunya TV’s policy does not allow anyone to use social media platforms along side their job on the TV. He also disclosed that Dunya TV offered him to continue with his digital platform but restricted to appear himself. Eventually, he decided to leave the show in favor of his own YouTube channel.
Apart from his digital platform, he also revealed he would join another TV channel. He didn’t disclosed the name of the channel but noted that it would a completely different genre. He mentioned that it’s all in very early stage and everything has yet to be started.
He gave his gratitude to the co-star of the show, Sohail Ahmed aka Azizi. He disclosed that they both had completely different political opinions – which were never apparently revealed on the show. He thanked him for bearing with him all the way for any disagreements and told how he learnt from him as a senior artist.
Hasb-e-Haal is comedy show based on political satire that airs on Dunya TV from Thursday to Sunday. Originally started in 2009, the famous Aftab Iqbal hosted the show for around over a year and left for a similar show named Khabarnaak on Geo News. In replacement for the host on Hasb-e-Haal, Dunya TV got Junaid Saleem. Since 2010, he was hosting the show along side the top comedian of the country Sohail Ahmed as Azizi and a few other stars.
